Who writes CoolSleeper, and how the numbers get here
CoolSleeper is a small comparison site about cooling bedding hardware for people who sleep hot. We would rather publish “thread count not on PDP” than invent 400 TC. That is the whole personality.
Who we are
CoolSleeper exists to help a hot sleeper pick sheets, and then a pad, without mixing viscose, percale, lyocell, and foam toppers into one shopping-blur. We cover current US-sold sets from Cozy Earth, Brooklinen, Quince, and Slumber Cloud.
We are not a sleep lab, a clinic, or a manufacturer. We do not have a stack of review sets on a hygrometer bench. When we say Cozy Earth fits 20 inches, it is because the product page says so.
Methodology
Updated September 2026.
- Read current official product pages (cozyearth.com, brooklinen.com, quince.com, slumbercloud.com) plus warranty/returns/FAQ pages those sites link to. For Brooklinen prices, we also read the public Shopify product JSON because the HTML PDP did not render dollar amounts in our fetch.
- Record only specs the manufacturer publishes: fiber content, weave/thread count when stated, pocket depth, listed price, trial, warranty, certifications. If two official blocks disagree, we print both.
- Use Amazon URLs only when we verified an ASIN on amazon.com. Quince has no verified official Amazon listing in this pass.
- Write a verdict as a constraint match: pocket depth, feel (crisp vs silky vs knit), trial window, listed price. Not a trophy for the best lifestyle video.
We do not invent street prices. Manufacturer listed prices appear with that label. Promotional sale prices are labeled as “showing on fetch.” Buttons say “Check price,” not “Buy now $X.”
How we make money

Outbound product links point at official brand stores and public Amazon product pages, with rel="nofollow sponsored noopener". Amazon URLs use tag mdgrealtor70d-20. Rankings are not sold. A brand cannot pay to be “best overall.”
This site is hardware only: sheets, pads, toppers. We will not sell supplements, sleep drugs, or “night sweat treatments.” Brand language about menopause or medical symptoms is not repeated as our advice. If overheating is a health issue, talk to a clinician.
What we left out on purpose
- Slumber Cloud / Outlast percentage claims about sweat reduction and deep sleep — manufacturer-cited studies, not our measurements, and too close to a treatment claim.
- Quince “traditional retail” comparison prices.
- Brooklinen warranty year-count (not on the Classic Percale PDP/FAQ we fetched).
- Cozy Earth Bamboo thread count (not published; FAQ declines to use TC as the quality metric).
- Cozy Earth Jersey pocket depth (not numbered on that PDP).
- Eight Sleep / BedJet / ChiliSleep — later page, different hardware class.
